31 May 2010: Interview with Lil Rue of Livewire Records

Young rapper Lil Rue - out of North Oakland - talked with us about his connections with Livewire Records, his own label Bearfaced Gang, future plans and his upcoming album "Dead End". [ BayUndaground.com ] : Let's start off with your music affiliates. You're signed to Livewire Records, right? Tell us about this connection.

[ Lil Rue ] : I met J Stalin through Ronald Mack in 2007. He asked me if I wanted to join Livewire Records. At the time I declined, but as time passed me, Ronald Mack and Lil Blood started working on the "Murder Fa Hire" album and I brought HD with me. That "Murder Fa Hire" album made me and HD official Livewire members at the time. [ read more ]


31 May 2010: Lil Rue's upcoming projects

Livewire member Lil Rue reppin' North Oakland is a step away from dropping a few new projects. We're still waiting for his collabo album "Shottas" with Lil Blood which is coming soon. What's more Rue is already working on his sophomore solo album called "Dead End", which is dropping soon under Livewire members. The album already feature guest appearances by The Jacka, Fed-X, Mistah F.A.B., Dubb 20, J Stalin, Lil Blood, Shady Nate, HD, Lil Kev, 2-11 and Jynx. He's also aiming to drop another solo called "Reloaded" produced by DJ Fresh, a collabo album with HD and more cds. 31 May 2010: Active Ent. presents We Stay Active mixtape

Homeboy rap fans should be pleased to hear about the new mixtape project by East Bay label Active Ent. called "We Stay Active". 29 May 2010: A-Wax - A Nightmare From Elm Street Vol. 2

Pittsburg representative A-Wax has recently released his highly anticipated mixtape "A Nightmare From Elm Street". Not even a month passed and he's back with the volume 2 that features even more tracks then we announced - 21 in total. 29 May 2010: Cisko - From The Streets 2 The Sheets

This is not all from Made Of Brown, as this label is also working on another solo by the P.B.C. member Cisko aka Innocente. It's been 4 years since he came out with the joint project with Jessica. Now he's back with the album titled "From The Streets 2 The Sheets". This project combines various aspects and mixes underground sounds with mainstream music. That's the origin of the title: "streets" stand for gangsta rap, while "sheets" mean calm R&B songs. You will obviously hear lots of Central Cali homeboy rappers featured on this one: Busta Brown, Young Rich, Milo, Loop, Lil Chris, Cachun and more. 29 May 2010: Lucky - Friday The 13th Vol. 2

Sacramento rapper Lucky has already laced you with the mixtape "Friday The 13th" that dropped a year ago. We've just had a chance to have a little talk with the young San Jose representative named TC Kapone, who has already released 3 solo albums, even one in 2010. [ TC Kapone ] : "Swamp Water" is my new album, I wanted to bring that gangsta style back. Many rappers are getting lost with this hyphy band wagon stereo type and basically in my opinion putting out some funny shit. Don't get me wrong, E-40, Mistah F.A.B. and those other cats started that movement and it was coo back then. 24 May 2010: Los Dogg - The Alpha Dog

We wrote a couple of days ago about the debut album from the Santa Rosa, 707 based record label. It is a solo by the local artist Doc Holiday entitled "Rooted To The Soil". We got in touch with Life Line Records and came to know that they are definitely not done for this year and are planning to bring you even more Santa Rosa music and introduce new artists. One of the upcoming releases is a solo album "The Alpha Dog" by the rapper named Los Dogg. It is scheduled for the late Summer and will also feature verses by such known artists as Guce, Taydatay, U.D.I., Mr. Kee, Swinla and more. 24 May 2010: Halfbreed - Let 'Em Know

Another solo coming up soon from the Life Line Records is a cd debut by the 707, North Bay artist Halfbreed. 23 May 2010: Proficy - Releasin' Tension

Be on the lookout for a new solo album by the San Francisco rapper Proficy. He'll drop an LP project called "Releasin' Tension" on August 10th. The release date might seem quite distant, but Proficy is already making some buzz around it as he has just made a video for a song called "Set It Off (remix)" which features San Quinn and Cait La Dee on a hook. Be on the lookout for a new solo project by Big Omeezy, who's now signed to Sick Wid' It Records. 20 May 2010: Jimmie Reign - Pretty Girl

If you're into softer vibes with RnB or soul flavor you'll be definitely pleased with this news. Jimmie Reign, an Oakland singer known for her delicate voice, which was already featured by many known Bay Area rappers, is finally coming out with an official solo project. It will be called "Pretty Girl" and will be released in a couple of days - on May 25th - under Red Honey Entertainment. Album will include tracks like "Different Person", "Heart Beat", "Out The Door" or "All On Me".

It's always better later than never. We missed the release date of the debut solo by the California rapper Young Blaze. His album entitled "Blaze 2 Richez" was released in February under the 831 area code record label 2Face Entertainment. It features 12 tracks with only a handful of guest appearances by The Grindhouse (formerly known as Gemini), Superior 1, JP and Young Fautless. BayUndaground.com brings you a very fresh, interesting and entertaining interview with East Palo Alto rapper, producer and graphic designer - Thugzy, one of the founders of Gritty Minded Records. They tried to put me in classes but I wasn't with the boaring shit, ya feel?! Lol! Here's yet another great interview for you. This time we've had a chance to have a long talk with David Rocha formerly known as Sir Dyno, one of the core founders of infamous Darkroom Familia, the person who paved the way and inspired many Latin rap artists in the northern Cali and out of state. You might not know, but he decided to change and devote his life to Jesus Christ. We talked mainly about his new mission, preaching, the way he views the past, upcoming plans and many more. [ BayUndaground.com ] : I saw you quote the Bible: "I have discarded all of my past accomplishments, counting it as garbage, so that I may have Christ". Do you really feel like that?

[ David ] : Yes I do and I do not apologize for it. But I would like to explain what I meant by that so as not to get taken out of context. The actual person that wrote that verse in the Bible was the Apostle Paul. He was very well educated, was very influential, had the best teachers. We've just talked with East Palo Alto rapper Thugzy who's finally coming out with his new solo joint. "Da Hood Boy" will be out next month on June 22nd and will be available online and in the streets. You'll get guest appearances by San Quinn, Chingo Bling and Gritty Minded artists. Be on the lookout for a new collaboration project from A-Wax (Pittsburg, Ca), Beta Bossalini (San Diego, Ca) and Mistah Freeze (North End, Wa). It will be a mixtape album called "I-5 Live: Pacific Ocean View" hosted by DJ Maniakal. There's no specific release date yet, however you can already pre-order it from UrbanTunes which also says it will be a double cd set.
