30 September 2010: I-5 Connect - The First 48

We have already written numerous times about the I-5 Connect group. The crew consists of Killa Klump (South San Francisco), Matt Blaque (East Oakland), Enormus Tha Ox (San Jose), Dough (Seattle) and Outrageous (Seattle). They have recently released a free EP project (read the review) that was meant to promote the release of the hereby longplay "The First 48".

This project is out now in numerous stores in Washington, Oregon and California. It should also officially hit iTunes in about a week. It features guest appearances by Freeway, Crooked I, Kurupt and more, plus production by Droop-E, Sean T, Swerve, Tryfe and more. 30 September 2010: Shake Da Mayor - Stay Focused Be Great

The brand new solo album by the Fresno rapper Shake Da Mayor is out here - available both in digital - iTunes - and pressed version. 30 September 2010: Lil Rue - Stars & Straps

We're back with some more specific information on the upcoming projects from Oakland rapper Lil Rue. As we told you his new official solo album called "Stars & Straps" will drop on October 19th. It will include 17 new tracks with all original production by Sonic Sounds, D-Dosia, Marlee B, Young L, J Knock, Joe Wax & more. Guest appearances will include verses by Philthy Rich, Stevie Joe, Mistah F.A.B., Lil Kev, Krypto, Young Moses, HD, Bruce Banna & more. 30 September 2010: Rob Rize - First Recordings & B-Sides (free)

There's no doubt that rapper Rob Rize hailing from the East Bay is making a lot of buzz before releasing his highly anticipated solo "Phoenix Rizing". He has already promised to drop "The Dark Hour" project in October and now he's giving away for free one of his first recordings and unreleased tracks. Rob brings you a free digital album called "First Recordings & B-Sides" which includes 10 tracks with appearances by Akazie, DC 4000, Rukus and Jamez Da Youngsta. 30 September 2010: Real Talk - Talk Sic

Bay Area representative named Real Talk released a solo album "Tha Natives 86er" back in 2008. Now he's back with a sophomore one titled "Talk Sic" that dropped under 86 Records. It features a set of 15 tracks with guest appearances by Copywrite, Crease, Myloekoe and Slack. You can already cop the digital version at CD Baby or iTunes. We know it's been a while since we published the last interview, however it sometimes takes time. Hopefully there will be more nice articles for you to read in the nearby future. The brand new interview is with one of the few Redwood City representatives - Zak1. He told us lots about his beginnings, what's the RWC rap scene like, upcoming projects and more. [ BayUndaground.com ] : "Shortstoppn'" seemed one of few official rap projects from Redwood City. Is the scene so small or just too local, not reaching other parts of the Bay?

[ Zak1 ] : "Shortstoppn'", "If These Trees Could Talk" and "Studio Fix" plus an album by Bosha ("What Part Of The Game Is This?") were some of the only RWC releases at the time, plus the underground albums etc. mentioned above. Redwood City is a very small city in between San Francisco and San Jose with a large Hispanic population. For this reason, it's "labeled" at times to gang related or solely certain style of rap (which is far from true, Redwood City is a VERY diverse city with a long history of hip hop). There are many young artists now coming from here that will be helping put us on the map big time, I am affiliated with almost anything you hear coming from Redwood. [...] [ read more ]


29 September 2010: MacShawn 100 - Tha Bigg Fish

Vallejo rap artist MacShawn 100 is working on the new solo project. It will be called "Tha Bigg Fish" and will be presented by Dogg Pound. The cd should be out this Fall. You may have already heard or seen a video for the single "And U Do Know That" as it dropped a few months ago, however MacShawn decided to record another video for this song - this time more official, mainstream and clean. 29 September 2010: Big Drawz presents Possession With Intent

The new compilation album presented by Big Drawz of 2-Illeven entitled "Possession With Intent" is available right now in various on-line spots like iTunes. You'll hear a huge line-up of some of the best Northern California rappers. Vocals are handled by Daz Dillinger, Yukmouth, Rappin' 4-Tay, C-Bo, Cougnut, South Central Cartel, JT The Bigga Figga, RBL Posse, San Quinn, Messy Marv, Cellski, Guce, Totally Insane, Marvaless, Taydatay, Baldhead Rock, Big Mack, 2-Illeven, Big Rich, Gamblaz, Mr. Kee & many more. 29 September 2010: Knock 4 Tha Block Volume 2

Bay Area based label Town Records is working on the second part of the "Knock 4 Tha Block" compilation. The sequel has been pushed back a bit, as it is now scheduled to be released on October 12th. The project will include new songs by rappers like San Quinn, Messy Marv, Mistah F.A.B., Husalah, Stevie Joe, Shady Nate, Balance, Dem Hoodstarz, Outlawz, Lil Rue & more. Up-and-coming artist B-Town Mac plays an important role out here, as he appears on 6 tracks overall. 29 September 2010: Global - Frequent Flyer Miles

San Francisco representative Global is also working on his new full-length official release. It will be entitled "Frequent Flyer Miles" and there's already a first single buzzing on the Internet for some time. You can watch the video for the song called "She Chose" which features J. Seattle, Wa resident Outrageous has already laced you with two collaboration projects recently. He is a part of I-5 Connect group formed together with Dough, Killa Klump, Matt Blaque and Enormus Tha Ox that dropped an EP and LP this year. This West Coast representative is also working on more albums. First one to come will be "The Crackin" EP that will feature 8 tracks and should be out on October 31st. One of the most known 559 area code gangsta rap representatives will soon lace you with a brand new album. I mean Sonny Boy Lokzter who hasn't come out with an official solo in 6 years. His new one will be titled "Street Terror" and will drop under Raza Loka Recordz. Vallejo native Droop-E and two Bay Area companies - Diamond Supply Co. and Black Scale - are joining forces for a unique music and clothing collaboration called "Blvck Diamond Life". The music part of the project includes a free for download digital release made of 8 tracks produced entirely by Forty Water's son himself - Droop-E. The highly anticipated double disc compilation called "Known Associates 3: Homeboys -N- Killahoes" was pushed back a bit - until the end of September, as there will be slight changes to disc 2. 05 September 2010: Kelieoso - Not A Reason To Doubt

Sacramento representative Kelieoso already released the "Street Sales" mixtape in 2009. He was also featured on numerous Sac-Town projects, for example albums by Bueno or B Peezy. Now he's back with an LP solo album entitled "Not A Reason To Doubt". It consists of 18 full-length tracks with a long line-up of guest appearances: Dubb 20, Buno, Rydah J. One of most known Central California, Fresno bred artist by the name of Diego Redd is back with yet another release. So far you could grab such mixtapes and albums as "Living Proof", "Dog Eat Dog" or "Gettin Money, Gettin Paid". The brand new one is a first part of a trilogy entitled "The Redd Baron". D Kash was born and raised in San Jose, but currently resides in Fresno, 559 area code. He already has a couple of local mixtapes under his belt. He has recently teamed up with Thurobread Records to release a collaboration joint with the fellow No-Town artist Young Neek. Their duo project is titled "Kill Everything" and is available right now for free download from his official website or you can use a direct link. The Delinquents member V-White hooked up once again with another Oakland rapper The Politician (aka Big Zeke) to record a joint project. 03 September 2010: Big Rich - The Collection Vol. 1 & Built To Last (free)

If you're a fan of SFC's native Big Rich you'll be pleased to hear that he's just put out a collection of some of his hits, which is available only in digitals but totally for free download. The album includes 15 songs taken from previous Big Rich's cds as well as other from projects by other artists like The Jacka, Rappin' 4-Tay or Messy Marv.

What's more, Big Rich is also working on a full-length solo album, which is scheduled to drop on November 16th. "Built To Last" has already revealed its first single called "Its Bigga" with the Evenodds duet. 02 September 2010: Young Gully - The Grant Station Project

The whole northern California society is probably familiar with the murder of Oscar Grant. "The Grant Station Project" is an audio documentation of lyrics, music and interviews - all inspired by the tragic death of Oscar. The album will be hosted by the Oakland rapper Young Gully who's working on it with the producer by the name of Jamon Dru. Los Da Rockstar is a rapper hailing from Mission District in San Francisco. He's recently working on his new solo mixtape project called "Money & Power". San Francisco based label Solidarity Records has just brought you their another release. We have already written numerous times about the I-5 Connect group. The crew consists of Killa Klump (South San Francisco), Matt Blaque (East Oakland), Enormus Tha Ox (San Jose), Dough (Seattle) and Outrageous (Seattle). They have recently released a free EP project (read the review) that was meant to promote the release of the hereby longplay "The First 48".

This project is out now, however not everywhere. You can get them for instance in Oregon and Washington states. California, Nevada and others should have it really soon. The official digital iTunes release is September 21st. It features guest appearances by Freeway, Crooked I, Kurupt and more, plus production by Droop-E, Sean T, Swerve, Tryfe and more. We're back with some fresh news on the latest releases from the Bay Area military rap representative Soldier Hard representing Vallejo, Ca. His upcoming solo "Soldier Of The Bay" is already done, yet the release date was pushed back and it will drop later this year. Fortunately, you're now able to cop a digital version of another release by Soldier Hard - a collabo album with another rapper/troop by the name Singe hailing from Concord, Ca.

Their joint venture is called "Block Monstaz" and is now available for download for 11 bucks at Band Camp website. Shame is a Fremont, 510 area code representative who's been in the game for a few years now. He has already dropped a couple of underground, mostly Internet releases, including "California" from 2007 and the latest "Random Acts" from 2008. Now Shame is working on another solo joint called "Empathy" which is about to drop in October. It will be free for download so be sure to check it out when it drops.
