22 November 2013: Huge sellout - 3 euros each - second batch added

I decided to cut down my collection and I'm selling numerous albums for 3 euros each. I have far too many cds, and I unfortunately do not listen to all of them. Due to many reasons, albums themselves are not necessarily bad, it just means that I either did not enjoy them or just they had bad luck and I need to make more shelf space. I don't want to earn money on them, I just want to make sure that these cds find a new, caring home. I'd rather send them to Europe than US, due to postal charges. Shipping costs will be added on top of everything.
I'd rather avoid selling one cd, cause it's not worth my while, so please choose multiple, if possible. Interested buyers please e-mail me at bpopow@o2.pl. First come, first served.
I will post more cds in upcoming days/weeks, there's definitely at least another 100 to come. 90% northern Cali rap.

12 November 2013: First impressions - BTA Boyz - Town Material

BTA Boyz are three Oakland youngsters named Bee Dee, Lil Yungsta and Chuck Nasty. I have an impression that their debut release "Town Material" was overlooked. I have never seen anyone recommend it or even mention it. What is more, I haven't spotted these cats on any other cd, even as guest appearances. Seems like they dropped this one album back in 2005 and disappeared. But anyway, it's worth having a look at "Town Material", it's a really decent project. 15 tracks, no features, BTA Boyz all by themselves.

At first they all have kind of similar voices, but the longer you listen, the more often you start telling them apart. What's good about the cd? Well, I truly enjoyed their rhymes and punch lines. So even though lyrical content doesn't reveal anything new, their vocabulary and rhyme patterns make it sound fresh. The artists are young, you can hear hunger in their verses, they are not one of those lazy-flow, laidback type of cats. On top of that production is mostly nice as well. It's diversified, all the way from slow jams, through dark street shit, to vivid party joints. It's a quality album, good "town material", it will definitely get more plays from me, and I suggest you check it out.

12 November 2013: Berner - Drugstore Cowboy (deluxe edition)

01 November 2013: First impressions - Boo Banga - Why So Serious?

Ok, I'm back in the mix with my first impressions of random cds. I've recently purchased Boo Banga's solo, 'cause I thought I can't go wrong with this artist. I have mainly heard him on DLK Enterprise's cds: Telly Mac's solo, "Hood Files" compilations, Young Boo's solo etc. He always came correct. He recently teamed up with Oakland 3rd World crew, he even released a collabo project with Lil Blood titled "Cream Soda And Actavis". But anyhow, the new one "Why So Serious?" is an ok album, but nothing more than that. Boo Banga usually comes correct, serves nice rhymes etc. The problem I have with this cd is an overall production. It tends to be too lively, too modern, too entertainment-centric. Boo Banga really blended well with beats on DLK Enterprise projects, yet here he seems so "meh".

Well, don't get me wrong, it's a decent solo (or should I say mixtape), but nothing more than that. There's one track I need to skip due to autotune on verses. I definitely feel a lack of mob beats, of more classic attitude, possibly more instruments in the background, something laidback too? As far as lyrics go he mostly focuses on drinking those stupid cough syrups (what's wrong with you people?), smoking belas, being a boss, pushing drugs etc. As a matter of fact there are numerous videos available for you to listen to, so see if Boo Banga cooked something that you'll actually enjoy:
